A Corpse for the Matadora is a sequel to A Corpse for Cuamantla. Commander Cortez, Head of Homocide for the Tlaxcala State Police receives a call about the murder of the business manager for a bullfighting team.  

The involvement of an American tourist prompts Cortez to ask American anthropologist Anna Merino to serve as his translator.  During the investigation she and Cortez are thrown together in ways neither anticipated.  Once again, Anna finds her life in danger as she is caught up in the violent world of bullfighting.

American graduate student Anna Merino travels to the State of Tlaxcala with high ideals and unrealistic expectations to carry out field research for her PhD dissertation in anthropology. Living alone in her advisor's fieldwork house and adjusting to the culture and language take their toll. The stress and intrigue ratchet up when Anna finds herself involved in a murder by inadvertently filming the murderer while documenting the village of Cuamantla's Cinco de Mayo fiesta.
